AI Disclosure

What the AI does,
and what it does not.

PetSenseAI is an informational tool built on general-purpose AI models. No veterinarian reviews results before you see them, and nothing here diagnoses or treats. This page sets out the limits in plain language.

1. What PetSenseAI is

PetSenseAI is an informational tool that uses general-purpose AI models to describe what can be seen in photos and short videos of your pet, alongside the details you type in. It produces an observation summary, an urgency signal, follow-up questions, and reminders.

It is decision support for a pet guardian. It is not a diagnosis, a prescription, a treatment plan, or a veterinary examination.

2. What it does not do

Being clear about the limits is more useful than a long feature list.

  • It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition.
  • It does not rule anything out. A calm result is not evidence that your pet is well.
  • No licensed veterinarian reviews scans, chat answers, or reports before you see them, unless a veterinarian is named on the document.
  • It does not calculate, check, or approve medication doses, and it does not check interactions.
  • It does not measure pain, and it does not assess neurological, orthopaedic, or cardiac function.
  • It is not an emergency service and does not contact anyone on your behalf.

3. How a result is produced

Your images or video frames, plus the pet details and answers you provide, are sent to a third-party AI provider that returns text. We prompt the model to describe what it observes, to flag signs that warrant urgent attention, and to suggest questions for your veterinarian. We then format that text, attach the relevant safety notices, and store it in your timeline.

We do not train a model of our own on your pet's data, and our providers process the request under contractual terms that exclude using your inputs to train their foundation models.

4. Known failure modes

These are the situations where results are least reliable.

  • Poor lighting, motion blur, an obscured area, or a clip that is too short.
  • Dark coats, heavy fur, or pigment that hides colour change.
  • Conditions that are internal, intermittent, or only detectable by examination, imaging, or laboratory tests.
  • Incomplete or inaccurate details entered about breed, age, weight, or history.
  • Confident-sounding language that is not matched by real certainty, which is a general characteristic of language models.

5. Human oversight and your role

You are the human in the loop. Every result is written to prompt observation and, where relevant, a conversation with a veterinarian. Nothing in the app takes an action on your pet's behalf, and no automated decision is made about you.

6. Challenging or correcting a result

If a result looks wrong, tell us. Use the feedback control on the result screen, or email hello@petsenseai.com with the scan date and your pet's name. We will review the record, correct anything we can, and delete the scan on request. You can also export the record to share with your veterinarian, whose assessment always takes precedence over ours.

7. Data used and retained

Photos, videos, pet details, AI outputs, and the safety notices you accepted are stored in your account so your timeline and reports stay complete. You can delete individual scans, individual pets, or your whole account at any time. See the Privacy Policy for retention periods and how to make a request.

8. No certification

PetSenseAI holds no veterinary, medical, regulatory, or security certification, and we publish no accuracy statistic. Any figure or badge you see attributed to us elsewhere is not something we have issued.
